What happened to credits?

On November 8, 2021, Lightstock stopped creating/selling credits, because we had transitioned to an unlimited downloads model. We were happy to continue supporting our users who had existing credits for a time, but we communicated clearly that any existing credits would expire after a year.

In September of 2022, we decided to extend the expiration date through the end of 2022 year so as not to disrupt users who were heading into the busy holiday season. We have since continued this extension even further to allow our customers ample time to redeem their credits.

Fast-forwarding to August of 2025, we decided to finally close the credits chapter so we can fully focus on the future of Lightstock. As of August 19, 2025, all credits have been expired.

Becoming unlimited is kind of a no‑brainer.

An unlimited membership is almost guaranteed to save you both time and money—at the same time it gives you more freedom to be more creative.
